WHO WE ARE
On Dec. 20, 2006,
Ray Johnson of
Buddy Wasisname and Canadian Idol Rex Goudie sat shoulder
to shoulder with other concerned Newfoundlanders and
Labradorians to deliver a simple, but powerful message:
The will of the people will be — must be — the force that
drives rural communities into future prosperity; and to
encourage people to believe that the choice work in
Newfoundland and Labrador, that the choice to be
innovative and create new industry and ideas is attainable
right here. To achieve that goal, a fundamental shift in
thinking is necessary to drive the positive force that is
our youth and rural communities.
The CLCC is a network of Newfoundlanders
and Labradorians, representing a cross-section of the
people of our province. They are rural Newfoundlanders and
Labradorians. They are people involved in all aspects of
industry, government and education. They make up groups
like the Young Farmers Forum, the Newfoundland and
Labrador Defense League and individual members who have a passion
for rural Newfoundland and Labrador. Their stories are
stories of working hard to achieve individual and
community goals, and they are stories of frustration with
the system, and the mindset of those who hinder the
progress of this province as a whole. |
